Merged is an apartment redesign project done for a Mumbai based business man and his family. The project consists of a two bedroom house for the family by merging two of the three apartment units owned by the family in the Choksi Building at Gamdevi, Mumbai. The third unit of the three apartments where the family currently lives will be retained as such as a separate guest house. The merged units occupy the first floor of the building while the guest house occupies the second floor.

The project transforms the cramped early 20th century apartment into a spacious modern open-plan living unit by reducing the number of obtrusive walls separating the rooms. The common areas are clubbed together as a single, connected space while the bedrooms are stacked towards the northern end of the building. The open living areas provide a sense of space lacking in the congested urban surroundings where the apartment is situated.
